How to choose a web agency in Chișinău without regrets

A badly chosen contractor costs you twice: first the money, then the lost months. Here are the criteria to compare offers against — including ours.

Short answer

Ask for work you can open in a browser, prices and deadlines in writing, check who remains the owner of the domain and the website — and avoid anyone who guarantees "#1 in Google". A serious company explains its process step by step and also tells you what you do NOT need.

01

The criteria that actually matter

  • Verifiable work — real pages that open in a browser, not screenshots in a PDF. If everything is "confidential", that is a signal.
  • A clear process — who does what, in which stages, what you receive at each step.
  • Price and deadline in writing — with what is included and, just as important, what is NOT.
  • Ownership — domain and hosting in your company’s name, not the agency’s. Otherwise you are captive.
  • Admin access at delivery — can you change a text or a photo without paying every time?
  • Honest SEO — correct structure, yes; guaranteed Google positions, no. Nobody serious can guarantee rankings.
  • Mobile and speed, demonstrated — ask to see their sites on a phone and real speed numbers, not promises.
  • Transparent maintenance — what it includes, what it costs, what happens if you opt out.
  • Communication in your language — answers within reasonable time, in Romanian or Russian, without jargon used as a smokescreen.
02

The questions to ask before signing

Seven questions that separate serious offers from the rest. The answers should be concrete, not evasive:

  • In whose name are the domain and hosting registered?
  • What exactly do I receive at delivery — accesses, files, rights?
  • What happens if in a year I want to work with someone else?
  • How will I see how many visitors I have and how many enquiries come from the website?
  • What is not included in the quoted price?
  • Who writes the texts and who selects the photos?
  • What does maintenance look like after launch, and what does it cost?
03

Red flags

  • "#1 in Google" guarantees — organic positions cannot be guaranteed by anyone; whoever promises them either does not know or is lying.
  • A portfolio that cannot be verified, or perfect reviews all from the same month.
  • A price quoted on the spot, with zero questions about your business — it means the price has no relation to the project.
  • The domain registered to the agency "to make things easier for you".
  • No contract or no written deadlines on a paid project.
  • "Only today at this price" pressure.
04

What is a fair price?

A fair price is an explainable one: you can see exactly what work it covers and why. We published the indicative ranges for the Moldovan market separately — one-page website, business website, website with automations — so you have a reference point when comparing offers.

05

How we work (so you can compare us)

To be fair, here is how we answer our own criteria: our indicative prices are public on the packages page, the domain and hosting stay in your company’s name, we offer no SEO guarantees, and our demos are clearly labelled as demos — we do not present them as client projects. We always start with a free audit in which we will also tell you if you do NOT need us.

FAQ

Questions about choosing a contractor

01Agency or freelancer?

It depends on the project. For a simple website, a good freelancer can be the right and cheaper choice. For a project your client flow depends on, continuity matters: who answers in a year, who keeps the site alive. Either way, demand full access to the domain, hosting and code.

02How long should a project take?

Roughly 2–4 weeks for a presentation website and 4–8 for a business one. Very short deadlines ("a website in 24 hours") usually mean a quickly assembled template — no SEO and no real content work.

03What does it concretely mean that the website is "mine"?

The domain is registered to your company, the hosting is on your account (or transferable), you have admin access, and you can leave for another provider at any time, website included. If any of those is missing, it is not yours.

04Do I need a contract for a small project?

Yes. Not for court — for clarity: what is delivered, when, at what price and what happens with changes. Two honest pages prevent most conflicts.
